August 2010
Dear Readers,
I'm overjoyed to announce that Leigh and I just finished rewriting the 25th anniversary edition of Bulimia: A Guide to Recovery. Wahoooo! Scheduled pubilcation date November 2010. I spent part of last week going through letters from individuals who were helped by prior versions, like this one from Japan, "Today, I am peaceful because you have touched my thirsty soul like a warm spring wind." I hope the new book is as well traveled!
Our Cozy Summer Sale is in full swing, which is a 20% discount off all the books and DVDs on the website—even those already discounted. So take advantage, and get some great deals at bulimia.com till the end of summer.
The featured item this month is the new self-help book Telling ED NO! by eating disorder activist and speaker, Cheryl Kerrigan. Based on her inspiring story, this is a collection of over 100 positive, proactive "tools" that are easy to understand and incorporate into a plan for recovery. This is a great book.
I'm looking for online support groups and chats for people who are living overseas. If you know of any, please let me know: lindsey@gurze.net
Finally, this month's inspirational corner is a lovely poem about friends by one of our regular contributors. I hope it inspires you to take some time to create, play, and enjoy some sunny days with loved ones.
Happy Summer,
Lindsey

Harmony Place is an adolescent eating disorders residential program offering comprehensive treatment to boys and girls (age 12-18) struggling with an eating disorder. The first adolescent residential program in New York State is led by a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals including nurses, psychiatrists, clinical therapists and physicians.
At Harmony Place, girls and boys receive personalized treatment, around-the clock supervision and support in a small, homelike environment. The program offers 20 group therapies per teen with an additional 8 hours of individual/ family therapies. Therapeutic sessions use empirically-based approaches to focus on client needs.
Families are vital in the teen's recovery plans. While the program focuses on the interruption and stabilization of the child's symptoms, family members will experience hands-on therapy sessions to learn about eating disorders and recovery at home. Harmony Place is located on the suburban campus of St. Joseph's Villa in Rochester, NY.
