Co-morbidity for psychiatric disorders is common. According to the National Co-morbidity Survey-R, over 45% of psychiatric cases are co-morbid. Along the same lines, there are multiple articles that demonstrate an association of early sexual abuse, adult rape and the development of eating disorders. This presentation will discuss the current research on co-morbidity with eating disorders, possible biological explanation for common behavior and current treatment approaches for patients with these constellations of problems.
