Summertime is here and as the mercury goes up and our clothes get shorter, more and more people get self-conscious abut showing off skin and are tempted to go on diets. This issue of the Gürze eNews is focused on helping you accept yourself just as you are this summer season.

  • Our featured books inspire living life diet-free and acknowledging that you are perfect as-is.
  • We have a link to an amazing new video-on-demand website, FindingBalance.com that aims to help disordered eaters find freedom to love themselves, and others, without condition.
  • The book club selection for the month of July is our best-selling, French Toast for Breakfast, which encourages the no-diet/ no-deprivation approach and works to heal the emotional side of eating problems.

Remind yourself that summer is about having fun, relaxing, and celebrating good times with family and friends. Life isn't any sweeter 5 or 10 pounds from now: the sky will be just as blue, the sand just as grainy, and the water just as blue. Enjoy yourself and have a great summer!

Best wishes,

By Jenni Schaefer, author of the Recovery Support blog on EatingDisordersBlogs.com.

“When I say that it gets better, I mean really better. I can honestly say that I experience true freedom from my eating disorder. To explain this feeling to the fullest, I need to introduce my eating disorder appropriately. His name is ‘Ed,' which is an acronym for ‘eating disorder.'
