Treating eating disorders since 2000

I combine interpersonal and cognitive approaches and focus on making changes in the present that lead to more authentic experiences and more confidence. While we need insight about how we got where we are, we also need to feel better now. I've learned that taking risks to know and express yourself more authentically leads to greater confidence in decisions and ability to identify what you need and get it. It is also important to focus on what it takes to change behaviors in addition to generating insight. I focus on maintaining excellence while reducing negative aspects of perfectionism such as self-blame. I encourage accuracy in responsibility-taking. I have a sense of humor and work best with those that have one as well.
