Dr. Shapiro has been specializing in Eating Disorders and Obesity since 1999. She maintains a practice in La Jolla, CA., where she works with individuals with "disordered eating" including anorexia and bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, obesity, general weight management, and bariatric surgery. She provides cognitive-behavioral therapy for individuals and groups for both adolescents and adults. Prior to starting her practice in CA, she was faculty in the Eating Disorders Program, Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and worked with patients with eating disorders in inpatient, partial hospital, and outpatient settings. Dr. Shapiro is IN NETWORK with various insurance companies and is happy to do the "leg work" to inquire if services will be covered for you.
